The Northwest Women's Law Center, was founded in 1978 to advance women's legal rights. We pride ourselves on our broad-based advocacy and on the variety of issues our work encompasses. We work on virtually any issue that affects women, because we recognize that women's lives, issues and concerns are complicated and interrelated; only by being open to all issues that affect women of all ages, backgrounds, and perspectives can we truly carry out our mission to advance women's legal rights. At any given time, the Law Center may be working on lawsuits, statutes, education workshops or preparing materials about any or all of these issues, depending on the needs we identify and the opportunities we can take advantage of. Law Center staff, Board members and other volunteers serve as advisors and coalition partners with other women's, children's, and civil rights organizations.
