The San Francisco Performing Arts Library & Museum is a leading institution of its kind internationally, and the largest in the Western U.S. Established in 1947, this ever-growing collection, currently numbered at nearly three million items, contains artifacts and information related to every facet of the performing arts around the globe, from dance, music, and theatre to circus and stand-up comedy.
