Description of Commercial Real Estate Finance Forum
CREFF has long been recognized as the foremost meeting place for professionals engaged in commercial real estate loan syndication. It has helped educate syndicators since its inception in 2003, founded by Dan J. Harkey (President of Point Center Financial). The vision in forming CREFF was to provide training in the securities arena for those companies headed in that direction. At the time, the Commercial Mortgage Association (CMA) had little interest in catering to this group. CMA has since however, broadened their viewpoint and are now offering focus groups and specialty training which include syndication. CMA has also been very effective on increasing both membership and their Pac Fund. CREFF applauds these results and encourages more of the same success. Evidently, it would prove counterproductive to offer competing agendas on similar topics as CMA. It is not in the best interest of our common members and vendors to put on 8 annual seminars or dilute their contributions to another Pac Fund. As of 2006, CREFF is adopting a slightly different emphasis. Forum membership is now limited to just 25 firms, and in doing so, promotes more personal involvement and growth. As a member, we encourage you to be vocal about the kinds of things you expect.
