An automated teller machine (ATM) or cash machine/minibank/bankomat is an automated machine which allows various transactions to be carried out at times when the bank is closed, by inserting an ATM card or bank card which has a magnetic stripe or a chip which contains information for identification. This can include cash withdrawal, sometimes with an ATM fee, balance enquiries, PIN (personal identification number) number changes and more. ATM locations vary though many are found just outside banks. They allow transactions to be carried out without the need of a clerk, cashier or bank teller.
