Description of Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture
PIHMA is proud and excited to welcome you to our new, beautiful location in central Phoenix. Our larger campus is situated in a beautiful tropical/forest setting, a true oasis in the desert. The lush waterfalls and creeks surrounding the southwestern style building truly reflect the harmony, beauty, and vitality of this medicine. PIHMA is now conveniently located near I-17 and Highway 51, allowing for access from all parts of the Valley. Call us for a visit and tour! In order to bring quality Oriental medicine to Arizona, the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA) created an acupuncture program that would meet nationally recognized standards. Indeed, the main focus of the school is on quality and professional excellence. PIHMA is the Valley's first college to be approved by the Arizona Acupuncture Board of Examiners and to be awarded Candidacy for accreditation by the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (ACAOM). PIHMA maintained a 100% graduate pass rate on the National Commission for Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) for several years. We care about our students and their future in Arizona. PIHMA was instrumental in the creation of Arizona's first Acupuncture board and legislation. We employ innovative, fun, state-of-the-art learning techniques to help our students learn and perform better on exams. The students and faculty designed PIHMA's unique alternating weekend schedule with flexible clinic shifts to better accomodate most working schedules. PIHMA requiresTai Chi and Qi Gong classes to relax the body and the mind, allowing students to connect with their own meridian system and better understand others. Most importantly, our students find that our faculty and administration are very approachable and responsive to their needs. We invite you to join us to become practitioners of Oriental medicine. We know that you will obtain a fine education , well-grounded in the practical and theoretical concepts of this ancient and effective system. Just as the fiery nature of the phoenix embodies the Oriental concept of the Heart/Fire element, we also invite you to become compassionate healers, serving others with an open heart.
