Laredo Examiners, Inc. was established in November 1997 primarily as a part time collection site for insurance paramedicals and DOT & NON-DOT drug and alcohol collections. Over the last six years, Laredo Examiners has evolved into a full service 24-7 facility providing a multitude of occupational and health related services; however, has become the provider of choice and industry leader in assisting companies mandated by the Department of Transpiration (DOT), and those non-mandated to establish their respective drug and alcohol testing programs, including a multitude of other services. Laredo Examiners is a local Nurse owned and managed company. Laredo Examiners, Inc. directors are Gerardo Elizondo and Robert Moran. Elizondo began his career as a local dentist in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, and subsequently received his RN license in 1994. He worked for Mercy Hospital in the Emergency Room for over 13 years, and subsequently 5 years as a nurse liaison between Laredo and Corpus Christi for Columbia Rehabilitation Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. Elizondo now manages the daily operations of Laredo Examiners, Inc. Moran received his Bachelor of Science of Nursing from Texas A&M International University in 1998, and earned a law degree in 2002 from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. He is currently completing a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas at Houston School of Public Health. Moran worked in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care unit at Mercy Hospital between 1996-1998 and as a home health nurse for Columbia Doctors Hospital between 1998-2000. While in law school, Moran worked in the emergency room at Columbia Bayshore Hospital in Pasadena, TX. He currently practices law for the law firm of Lopez, Peterson, & ssBenavides. He primarily practices insurance defense, health and corporate law.
