Lanesboro Public School provides our patrons with modern facilities, visionary people and traditional values. We offer programs for children birth to Kindergarten and from Kindergarten through Grade 12. A Daycare for children 6 weeks to 12 years is housed in the school building and is operated by the school district. When this program was initiated in 1988 it was the first of its kind in a Minnesota school district. The district also provides a four-year-old preschool program as well as a preschool program for three year olds. Early Childhood and Family Education (ECFE) is offered for preschool children along with their parents. The school district emphasizes a strong basic education where students will gain command of the academic fundamentals. The district boasts of a student/teacher ratio of less than 13 to 1 in our K-12 programs. We have several up to date computer labs with a student/computer ratio of 2 to 1. A Spanish program is offered to students beginning in 1st grade and continuing through Grade 12. On state testing, the Lanesboro students have consistently scored in the top 10%. Our school district has approximately 400 students. In our small school family type of environment your children will be known by and receive personal attention from staff. We truly believe "small schools allow more students to shine and feel they are an integral part of their community, not just another face in the crowd". As evidence supporting this statement we can tell you that over 97% of our secondary students are involved in extra activities beyond their academic program. Lanesboro patrons have a long history of supporting their school district. Since the birth of our district over 100 years ago, we have never had a referendum vote fail.
