Mendon Public Library

Mendon Public Library is committed to providing free and open access to informational, educational, recreational, and cultural resources for library users of all ages and backgrounds. The Library makes information available in a variety of formats, including print, audiovisual, and electronic resources. Staff are available on a limited basis to help you get on the internet. The Mendon Library has five terminals with free internet access available for our patrons. We use a high speed internet connection for your convenience. No sign up is required. However, if others are waiting to use the terminals you will be asked to limit your use, so others may use the terminals within a reasonable amount of time. The Mendon Library reminds users that computers are located in public areas shared by people of all ages and backgrounds. Internet users must be considerate and respectful of other library users, and especially mindful of children in the Library, particularly when accessing information or images others may find offensive. The Mendon Public Library does not monitor internet use, has no control over information accessed through the internet, and cannot be held responsible for its content. The internet may contain material of a controversial nature. The Mendon Public Library complies with the Federal Children,s Internet Protection Act which requires the use of filtering software for adults, teens and children. Adults, defined by the law as over the age of 17, may choose to use unfiltered computers for internet access. Filtering software may not block all material users might find offensive. The Library also affirms the right and responsibility of parents to determine and monitor their own children,s use of library materials and resources. Parents must assume responsibility for their children,s use of the Library,s electronic resources. Parents are encouraged to supervise their children,s internet sessions.
