Description of Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists
The Michigan Society of Radiologic Technologists (MSRT) is an affiliate of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). The MSRT was founded in 1956. It is a not-for-profit member association for radiologic science professionals. The purposes of this society are to advance the art and science of medical imaging and radiologic treatment specialties, to assist in establishing and maintaining high standards of education at all levels, to evaluate the quality of patient care, and to improve the welfare and socioeconomic of radiologic technologists. The MSRT holds an annual meeting each fall, usually in September, to transact society business and provide an Educational forum for the membership. Six board meetings are held throughout the year to transact society business; these board meetings are open to all members. Each spring a number of educational conferences are held to provide continuing education for all modalities. A professional journal, Technically Speaking, is published four times a year and is provided to all MSRT members. The MSRT encourages the Michigan districts to provide similar programs in their areas.
